Who / what is Where the Grass Is Green, and what is your role/s within the company?

We are Melbourne based, custom event creators, award winning floral designers and special projects company.
The team includes Michael Strownix (Creative Director), Kaidee Grzankowski (Senior Stylist/Business Development Manager) Stacey Stageman (Event Coordinator) + a whole bunch of amazing contracted florists and creative blooded individuals.

Which three words best describes WTGIG?

1. Unique

2. Exciting

3. Daring

Tell us a little about one of your most memorable projects you’ve worked on:

Shorna + Gil’s Wedding at Collingwood Children’s farm on Australia day this year!

This is one of our largest scale events we have done to date. We loved working on this one as we got to work in beautiful surrounds with lots and lots of trees. Gotta love that lush greenery hey?! Also having baby peacocks and lambs running around our ankles as we were setting up was pretty magical. 2x Teepees, 1x Giant Circus Tent, 1x Massive Catering Marquee and an outdoor dining space to die for!

A great day begins with?

Coffee and maybe a cookie. Always finishes with a little treat and on a sunny day a fresh gin!

What are your favourite trends of the moment?

Ooo Ah LUXE!!!

Foliage, Foliage and more Foliage! You can never have enough greenery.

Those dreamy velvets in emerald green, burnt orange and dusty pinks.

Who or what inspires you? Where do you look for inspiration?

We are all inspired by live and organic materials, taking influence from nature, florals and fauna. As well taking creative direction from Michael (CD), who’s influences include American sculpture and photography artist Matthew Barney, Dutch Visual Artist Berndnaut Smilde, Central Australian artists Hermannsburg Potters and fashion icons Jean-Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen and Thierry Mugler. We look to florists from all over the world for inspiration and hit the local markets with a coffee in hand to investigate new seasonal changes in products.

The last song you (Kaidee & Stacey) listened to on repeat was?

Humble by Kendrick Lamar

Which Dann Event Hire piece is your favourite?

The table range of the current Bijoux collection; in particular the transparent blue tabletops. Sooo Dreamy!!!

If you were a piece of furniture which would you be? Why?

We would currently be ‘The Original Gravity Stool’ by Jolan van der WIEL. Why? Because it’s outrageously awesome but is also a true representation of our quirky, wacky and wonderful nature.
