Tell us what is Tori Allen Events, and what is your role/s within the company?

Tori Allen Events is a design agency which specialises in Event Planning, Event Design and Floral Design. I am the director of the business and lead an incredibly hard working team who make the brand the exciting business it is!

Which three words best describe Tori Allen Events?

1. Creative
2. Energetic
3. Inspired

Do you have a philosophy that you instill into your work?

We keep things real.  We have a ‘can do’ attitude.
Creativity is core to our business alongside a professional style and an approachable manner.

Tell us a little more about some other memorable projects you’ve worked on:

Over the past 5 years we have worked on so many exciting jobs, from major Melbourne events through to exciting corporate briefs and incredible weddings. It is really hard to pin point just one. However, we recently worked with a client on their wedding; we formed such a nice relationship and were driven to ‘up our anty’. Our team and suppliers exceeded expectation and we all felt really proud – it was truly memorable.

What is your own work space like?

Honestly… right now, organised chaos!! We are in the heart of the event season so there is always something different going on; from fresh flowers, styling elements, custom build items right down to the third coffee cup piling up on the desk!

Which other designers, artists or creative people inspire you at the moment? 

I am constantly inspired.  I don’t have one person that truly motivates my creativity. I love fashion, interior design and colour…. I don’t want to sound corny, but I am inspired by all around – the people I meet, the movie I watched, the street I walked down, I love being out and about and am constantly asking too many questions!

What are your favourite trends of the moment?
What can’t you get enough of right now?

We’re loving all things velvet – 70’s style colour palettes, sandstone objects, Matisse inspired artwork, boutique hotel fits outs and fashion designers like Celine and Chloe who do jewel tones so well!

What colour palettes are you enjoying working with at the moment?

Pink on pink on pink, Saffron style mustard and brassy tones I am also loving a bit of neon acrylic!

What would be your dream creative project?

To do a fit out in the Birdcage!
(Flemington Racecourse during Melbourne Cup Carnival)

What do you do to get away from it all?

I love to go away (when I can) and spend time with my family and friends. This relaxes me and gives me a refreshing reboot for the next busy period. (We can relate to that!)

What’s your favourite Melbourne hang out and why?

There are so many to choose from. Recently I have loved going to Gilson in South Yarra and an old favourite is always Caffe’e Cucina.


Which Dann Event Hire piece is your favourite?

So many to choose from – the DEH website tab is always open on my computer! I haven’t used it yet, but I love the colour palette and style of the Eadie range. I am also a sucker for the paneling of the Luna banquette lounge seating.

If you were a piece of furniture which would you be? Why?

A bar stool, would always be near a bottle of wine. (Cheers to that!)
